Who is Dan Plechaty?

Dan Plechaty is a third-year undergraduate at the University of Chicago, majoring in Economics and Environmental Studies. He is also a contributor and managing editor for The Triple Helix, an undergraduate-run journal that focuses on the intersection of science, society and law. His published articles may be viewed here.

Academically, his interests lie mostly in applied microeconomics, especially in relation to energy and the environment. In 2009 he received a grant from the University of Chicago Sustainability Council to research the feasibility of operating an anaerobic digester on campus. The full report is available here.

Currently he is conducting research into complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs) with a post-doctoral economist at Princeton University, while continuing to take classes in macroeconomics and environmental economics.
